Our Mission:
Missouri Right to Life is a state-wide organization which upholds and promotes the sanctity of all innocent human life at every stage through natural death by providing education and supporting legislation and programs that endorse that ideal and by organizing citizens for effective results.

Dear Jerry,     

On March 11th, 2008, MRL is sponsoring a Pro-life Action Day at the Missouri State Capitol. We will be lobbing for legislation that requires:

• Mandatory ultrasounds before abortions
• Informing a mother that a baby feels pain during an abortion
• Requires protection for women from coerced abortions

In addition we will lobby for legislation that prevents the creation of animal/human hybrid beings and promote a complete ban on all human cloning in Missouri.

It is critical that we have hundreds of people at the capitol.  Not only to lobby for the passage of these very important pro-life bills but also to send a message to our elected officials, the media and the public that pro-life Missourians are a large, unified block of voters that stand together to have their voices heard.  The legislators, elected officials and political party leaders (of both parties) seem to be discounting or ignoring pro-life and pro-family constituents and March 11th is critical to show that we will not be discounted or ignored.

In order to help us promote this important event, please consider doing the following:

1. Send this E-News to all your pro-life family and friends.
   
2. Distribute flyers to churches in your area. Click here for copy of the flyer.

3. Do follow up phone calls to pastors to see if it's  been posted, announced. etc.
   
4. Find out the pro-life activist or coordinator for each church.  Call them and ask them to organize a group from their church to come to the legislative day.
   
5. Run a bulletin announcement in church bulletins 2-4 weeks prior to the legislative action day. Click here for sample bulletin announcement.

6. Make copies or email/call MRL State Office (573-635-5110) to send more flyers.  Take flyers to any businesses that will accept them.  This will probably be more successful in the smaller towns and rural areas.
   
7. Use flyers as an ad in your local paper.  Add information to the ad on local transportaion, i.e. meeting place for car pools, buses, etc. and a local contact number.
   
8. Make phone calls to pro-life activists in your area and ask them to participate in the legislative action day. Click here for sample script.
